Donald Danforth Plant Science Center  975 N Warson Rd, Olivette, MO 63132

The Donald Danforth Plant Science Center is an independent, not-for-profit research institute dedicated to plant science located in the Creve Coeur community of Saint Louis County, Missouri, United States. It was founded in 1998 by William Henry Danforth, chancellor emeritus of Washington University in St. Louis and named after his father.

In June, Great Rivers Chapter member Lee Phillion arranged for this advanced training opportunity at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center.  There was so much to see!  The whole facility is surrounded by native prairie with a path that regular citizens can wander through freely.  It is a premiere facility where scientists come to explore and research innovations that might help to “feed the hungry and improve human health, while preserving and renewing our environment.” as per their mission statement.  If you would like to learn more about the Danforth Center, you can find more information at:  The Danforth Center.
