Forest Park Forever

Many Great Rivers members volunteer with Forest Park Forever to help maintain and improve the natural areas of the park. There are basically two types of volunteer opportunities. The first is a regular weekly volunteer position. Within the Nature Reserve we have two groups of weekly volunteers, both from 9 to 12noon, one on Tuesdays and one on Wednesdays. These group consist of 4 to 10 individuals who come out and help us do invasive species control and removal, native plantings, vegitation surveys, etc. The other type of volunteer group would be a single day event where, volunteers come into the park for a day and just do a one-time project. This type of project usually involves removal of invasive or trash clean up, but can sometimes include plantings or seed collection depending on the time of year.
